CHALLENGE

In order to reduce costs and increase workflow control, a Large Retail Chain decided to deploy an access control system with working time logging option for 359,000 employees at more than 20,000 distributed sites.

Customer requirements:

• vandal-resistant solution;
• IP-based platform;

• ACS operability in case of disconnection from the central server;
• uploading missed controller data when server is back online ;

SOLUTION

After a rigorous selection and testing, the concept developed by MTEON experts won the bid.
The concept was based on NEDAP technologies (Netherlands) — a recognized world-leading ACS company.
The ACS was deployed throughout all Customer's facilities within 12 months. All the milestones of the deployment schedule were met.
MTEON was entrusted with the most complex and large facilities of the Customer.

Works performed by MTEON experts:

• established the system monitoring and management center at the Customer's head office;
• designed and deployed the working time logging system with flexible reporting;
• designed and deployed integration with human resource management systems; and
• established the Competence Center, trained and certified more than 100 specialists of the

Customer and its contractors;

The deployment of MTEON solution resulted in a significant reduction in staff costs, increased discipline, and new tools for workflow management.

CHALLENGE

Based on the results of market analysis and the recommendations collected, the Clothing Store Chain asked MTEON to design and deploy a video surveillance system to monitor workflow within the chain.
The requirements put forward by the Customer were as follows:

• system deployment within 12 months in 100 cities;
• 24-hour support and maintenance in all cities of the chain;
• user-friendly interface for operation on any devices, from tablets to PCs;
• uninterrupted operation even with narrow-band and unstable communication link;
• complete utilisation of the equipment installed;
• remote control of:
•  background music in the stores;
• goods layout;
• price tags and marketing promotions;
• Customers service quality;
• counting visitors by gender and by age; and
• flexible reporting system.

SOLUTION

• To design the solution, the MILESTONE platform was chosen for being the world's leader among video surveillance systems for 10 years in a row. MILESTONE open platform allows creating core-based, customized surveillance systems. MTEON experts have a hands-on experience with MILESTONE and ADVANCED certification.
• Our experts created an effective surveillance system, despite of bandwidth and equipment footprint limitations.
• The deployed system reduced the costs of managing geographically spread stores and substantially increased the sales records.
• The system analytic modules provided a significant increase of sales conversion — a parameter that shows how many visitors made a purchase.
• Our experts created a single virtual control center for the system including 450 stores and 2,500 video cameras. The surveillance and reporting systems were made available for authorized users from anywhere in the world and via any device.
• The distributed structure and technologies of MILESTONE increased the speed of making proper management decisions.

CHALLENGE:

The Customer is the world largest home goods retailer operating in 50 countries. Since 2015, MTEON is a primary contractor for European stores of this Customer for security systems infrastructure service and support. In 2020 the Customer asked MTEON to create videoanalytics toolkit to improve the customer experience.
Technical tasks:

• to improve management of customer traffic in real time. Sometimes customers were served inefficiently with queues piling up at the checkout;
• to understand the behavior of its customers and to personalize communications with them to offer goods and service they really interested in;
• to develop toolkit for managing customer behavior and sending personalized offers to visitors when they are in the store;
• to develop a customer flow management system;
• to develop a way to reduce customer service time;
• to develop a system for distributing queues to free cashier desks;
• to develop a system for online monitoring of staff performance.
• As a result, the Company expected increased customer loyalty and boosted revenue.

SOLUTION:

We had to develop a solution to understand and manage customer behavior, personalize communications with shoppers in the physical world in real time. This solution was supposed to be like e-commerce but based on data that can be obtained from physical equipment right in the store.
One of the main tasks was full compliance with the requirements of the legislation for personal data protection: CCPA and GDRP.

Our solution includes:

• decentralized archive for personal data protection,
• traffic management system,
• a queuing system,
• personalization tools,
• store navigation system,
• forecasting system,
• reporting and data visualization system.

We’ve developed an innovative platform for digital business transformation to improve the performance of each division in real time.

We created tools to improve the shopping experience and personalize advertising messages like in e-commerce. But - for stores in the physical world. With absolute protection of personal data.
Classic stores can understand their customers at a level previously available only to online retail leaders.

The project results were mind-blowing for the Customer. They had double-digit rise across all KPIs: revenue, conversion rate, loyalty rate, etc. Customer service time decreased by 3 times.

It basically means a completely new way of thinking about service and new level of customer experience.

CHALLENGE

A large European investment bank asked MTEON to upgrade the security and fire alarm systems at the bank's headquarters.

Based on the audit of the existing facilities and the requirements of the Customer, the following challenging and complex issues were revealed:

• the upgrade shall be performed without interrupting bank's operation;
• operations shall be performed 24/7 in a 5-floor landmark mansion;
• the newly designed system shall meet strict requirements of the European headquarters;
• the newly designed system shall be integrated into the bank's single global security network, with no additional costs;
• a customized reporting system shall be designed and implemented in order to comply with international standards;
• a system for integration with bank's proprietary security systems shall be designed and implemented;
• a distributed video archiving system with multi-year clusters shall be designed and implemented.

SOLUTION

The implementation of this project has become a gemstone in the range of MTEON achievements.
Despite the overwhelming force major circumstances and intrinsic challenges, our expertise allowed implementing this project within the deadlines.
The transition to a new system was seamless and flawless, without a single false alarm.
All cable lines and trays were also upgraded. It should be noted that the works were carried out in a landmark mansion, and none of the state-protected components was damaged or affected.
The acceptance committee of the European Bank's headquarters recognized our outstanding expertise and recommended partnership with MTEON for other business areas of the Group.

CHALLENGE

The commercial real estate development company asked MTEON to upgrade the security and fire alarm system in one of its premium Business Center.

The key requirements put forward by the Customer were:

• The solution shall be technologically efficient, with fastest possible payback and lowest possible investments in future maintenance and service.
• The access control system shall embrace wireless opening of doors and turnstiles via the smartphone.
• The video surveillance system shall have face recognition functionality and notify the management of the Customer about VIP visitors.
• Parking shall be equipped with vehicle numbers recognition system and contactless barriers opening.
• All upgrade works shall be carried out without interrupting normal operation of tenants and public places.
• The solution shall comprise a flexible system of reporting on the activities of the Customer's personnel.
• The system shall be integrated with the Customer's engineering systems.

SOLUTION

The solution developed by MTEON won a tough bid held among the leading Integrators.

MILESTONE and AXIS technologies were used as a core of the solution, and due to the profound knowledge of these technologies, we were able to reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) by 16%.

Thus, the total cost of the solution based on the world's leading technologies was slightly lower than the cost of a “competitive” solution based on the low-budget technologies.

All cable lines and trays were also upgraded. MTEON developments and expertise ensured the uninterrupted operation of the access control and parking systems. The works were carried out without a single failure or disturbance of the tenants' operations.

The situation center was established for the Security Service of the Business Center, enabling centralized data collection from security and engineering systems. Flexible reporting system allowed to improve the overall discipline among the Customer's employees, and to identify and prevent possible difficulties in the operation of the Business Center.

Upgrade of the security system not only proved the high grade of the Business Center, but also increased the quality of service provided to the tenants.

The project was accepted at the first try, and the Customer decided to conclude a long-term partnership with MTEON.

CHALLENGE:

The Customer is the largest European logistics complex with 10 separate buildings and 3 robotic warehouse complexes. It also has 4 checkpoints, separate cargo and car parking. The total area that should be covered by security systems is more than 4 km². Equipment installation height was up to 47 meters.

The warehouses, ERP system and logistics play an important role in enabling seamless and rapid trade in goods, and therefore must function precisely, smoothly and reliably. Modern cameras and AI video analytics can help to document incoming and outgoing goods, automate and speed up the work of checkpoints, and unforeseen incidents or interruptions in the supply chain on the entire site, as well as to analyze processes. This makes it possible to optimize procedures and make them even more efficient in the future. This is the only way to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.

The task was to build an integrated security system at a facility with distributed buildings and a large outdoor parking space. Monitoring center should collect all data from all security systems.

SOLUTION:

MTEON had built the security system with the integration of all low-current subsystems: video surveillance, access control, anti-intrusion system. We implemented an automatic number-plate recognition to automate and speed up the work of checkpoints.

As a result, the Customer has a precise overview of which work and goods processes take place on the site and at what time. This enables it to see where there may be delays, optimize processes, and make staff planning more efficient.

The integration of license plate recognition software for the company’s and guests’ vehicles regulates and simplifies access to the site via the stored credentials of various license plates, and simplifies the entry control process of the site employees.

CHALLENGE:

The Customer is one of the largest companies in Europe to generate electricity from renewable resources. Its portfolio includes 26 solar plants generating about 640 megawatts of power. The owners were faced with the challenge of finding the best way to protect the property and control the large areas of solar power plants.

One of the most requested tasks was the implementation of an analytic tool that helps the Customer detect the movement of people and vehicles entering, loitering, or passing through the property. They needed to detect and recognize the intrusions over long perimeters.

SOLUTION:

The Customer hired MTEON as a systems integrator and Axis partner, to construct a more cost-efficient solution. MTEON’s innovative approach integrated Axis Q6225-LE PTZ cameras.

Each camera detects the intrusion up to 2000 m, observes actions up to 800 m, and recognizes faces up to 400 m. The cameras use the geolocation data to automatically change their field of view to provide visual verification of the incident for security staff that remotely monitoring the solar field.
Instead of operating on preset and fixed positions, the AXIS Q62 Series cameras can be precisely directed to the invasion point in real time without operator intervention.

This solution dramatically decreased the number of cameras for the solar farm that meant using considerably less cabling and infrastructure.

CHALLENGE:

At a great altitude reaching the glaciers of southeastern Asia, the unique gold mine is located.
The security department of the Customer works around the clock – 24/7, 365 days a year. It is responsible for the safety of work in gold mines and ore processing plant, for reviewing the Company’s access control policies and processes for visitors and more than 4,000 employees, monitoring entering and leaving the sites and performing regular alarm testing.

The first and most important task was to build a geographically distributed video surveillance system with high reliability and efficiency. The entire operation should be managed from the Monitoring Center to bring all information from the cameras, security guards and other systems into one place to simplify security processes.

The difficulty was that the Customer had more than 20 local sites with limited communication channels. The work was carried out in the mountains at an altitude of 4500 m. There were also high requirements for seismic resistance and reliability of the equipment.

SOLUTION:

MTEON provided the Customer with a demo, technical advice, installation and finely tuned adjustments to ensure the solutions work precisely as required.

The CCTV solution was based on Axis network cameras. A total of 300 Axis cameras covers all the main facilities. The cameras are used to ensure the physical security of the perimeter, protect assets, and monitor worker complience to safety and operational regulations.

MTEON merged parallel video management systems onto a single Milestone platform. Security now manages all Axis camera functions from a central command center, greatly improving response time to incidents.

The Customer is a multinational retail group with more than 20,000 locations and its own food production plants. MTEON has been providing integrated security systems for the Customer's hypermarkets since 2014. Therefore, when the Customer built the plant, MTEON was chosen as a system integrator for the implementation of biometric access control, video surveillance and security system.

CHALLENGE:

There was a need to install an Enterprise Class Access Control System which should be fast, reliable and secure in all aspects to avoid the unauthorized access in the food production premises. The Customer wanted an access control system on all doors, entries and checkpoints which should be expandable, fast, reliable, secure, user friendly and cost effective in terms of maintenance costs.
There are strict requirements in food production: the access control system must automatically control the validity of the medical examination of employees and check the properworkwear, all system equipment must be waterproof and suitable for disinfection.

The Customer also wanted to control the location of employees, logtime & attendance and manage the production workload.

All security systems should be integrated to create single interface for incident response.

SOLUTION:

MTEON proposed Suprema Biometric Solutions and MIFARE waterproof RFID wristband bracelets for access control and time & attendance management. These solutions were integrated into disinfection equipment. Axis cameras and Milestone software were used for deployment of intellectual video surveillance system.

As a result, the Customer receivedthe secure and convenient system, can operate entry & exit details of its employees and comply strict requirements of food production to avoid any incidents. 

The management platform fully provides all access control features and manages the Time & Attendance solution with detailed performance for each employee. It simplifies employee timesheet monitoring, calculation of work hours and collection of time & attendance data.

Intellectual video surveillance system helps the Customer to keep the quality and safety of their food products at a high level and reduce raw material losses and thereby save costs.

CHALLENGE:

The Customer, an international airport with 13 square km of airfield area and 143 aircraft parking stands, needed a reliable video-surveillance and perimeter defense system to monitor its facilities.
Such big space presents a special environment for the security team. The airfield has mainly flat terrain, making patrols difficult as intruders can spot their vehicles from afar. The airport therefore needed technology that could alert to possible trespassing and provide context around intrusion events.

There was a need to create a high-performance video-surveillance and anti-intrusion system that responds to the highest requirements of critical infrastructure, to minimize the number of false alarms and reduce relative costs.

• Perimeter Intrusion Detection System

With Axis, Milestone and Perimeter Intrusion Detection System, the airport’s security staff can see any potential intrusions on-site, along with an interactive site plan, video confirmation of any intruders and the location of security teams.

Through the rules engine in XProtect software, cameras are instructed to focus on what’s happening so security staff can decide whether action is needed. The ’Friend or Foe’ system cuts down false alarms while automated camera and lighting control increases efficiency. For example, maintenance workers on the airfield can be detected by the system but alerts are only issued when they step away from a vehicle at a distance that signals they are not following the procedure.

MTEON has also implemented a perimeter protection system against the throwing of prohibited items and objects over the fence. The solution makes it possible to determine the fact of the "throwing" of items prohibited in the controlled area of the airport: weapons, explosive devices and explosives.

All systems have enhanced security, increased operational efficiency and support scalability as the airport continues to grow.
